The Election Commission will meet in the Clerk’s office located at 19729 11 Mile Rd. Big Rapids, Mi. 49307. The purpose of this meeting is to elect the Election Inspectors for the March 10, 2020 Election. Lois Brennan Mecosta Township Clerk Township Hall Mecosta Township is pleased to announce receiving a $205,400 grant for Michigan’s Dragon at the Hardy Dam, from the Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF). All matching funds will be provided by Corporate donations that have been received by Michigan’s Dragon at the Hardy Dam. This grant is to be used exclusively for that portion of the Dragon that is in Mecosta Township. CLEANUP GUIDELINES MATERIAL PREPARATION • All loose material must be in containers. No shoveling of pickup beds will be allowed. •Material must be of appropriate size to fit inside the hopper of a garbage truck. •All liquids must be removed before disposal. •All containers (pails, drums, etc.) must be unsealed and open for inspection. LOADING/UNLOADING •All material must be unloaded by residents with assistance from Granger associates, following accepted safety guidelines. •All material must be unloaded by hand. •No commercial or dumping trailers are allowed. •No shoveling of materials out of truck beds will be allowed. ACCEPTED •Furniture •Appliances (non-Freon-containing or certified that Freon was properly removed) •Scrap metal •Lumber and other long materials (must be 4 ft. or shorter) •Small amounts of remodeling waste •Carpet •Motorized equipment lawn equipment (gasoline, oil and any other liquids must be removed) •Discarded general household items (clothes, toys, bicycles, etc.) •Paint (latex only, must be solidified) NOT ACCEPTED •Yard waste, Liquids of any kind, Oil-based paint, stain, varnish, Appliances containing Freon, Concrete or other masonry materials, Dirt or rocks, Tires, Lead acid automotive batteries, Hazardous materials, Any container with a hazardous waste label, Fluorescent light fixtures, Flammable or explosive material, Propane tanks, unless valve is removed, Construction, demolition or roofing material, Asbestos, Ignitable, corrosive, reactive or toxic materials, Commercial waste MUST BE A MECOSTA TOWNSHIP PROPERY OWNER OR RESIDENT Granger Waste Services reserves the right to reject any material not suitable for disposal due to size, weight or type of material.
